Juliet's surgery fund

Dear friends & family,

As many of you know, my lovely Mama (Juliet) has been here visiting me in the U.S. for the past few weeks. We've been having a wonderful time together, but unfortunately a damper was put on her trip when she fell a couple of days ago and badly injured her wrist. Suspecting it was a break, we got it seen to ASAP, and it turns out one of her wrist bones is shattered and she will need surgery to fix it.

Mum has decided to get the surgery here rather than fly back to England early with a broken bone and attempt to get it done on the NHS before the bone sets (which could be risky as there is no guarantee she would get it on time). Making it even more difficult is her commitment to fly on to Turkey shortly after arriving back to England to teach a trauma healing course. 

This might not have been such a big deal had it happened in England, but thanks to the U.S. healthcare system being the way it is and the fact that Mum did not have travel insurance, the financial cost of this surgery will be substantial. 

The total fee so far comes to $8850, but may increase with follow-up consultations. We are asking for any contribution, big or small, to relieve this financial burden. 

Mum is going in for the surgery today (Weds 7th), so even if you cannot contribute financially, sending well-wishes and love would mean the world to her!!
