Get Julia an Electric Wheelchair

If you’re seeing this GoFundMe page, there’s a good chance you already know Julia Fraley – so I’m probably wasting my breath telling you how amazing she is. Still, I can never say it enough – Julia Fraley is an amazing, compassionate, courageous, determined, sensitive, and relentless soul who is dealing with a tremendous amount of pain. Despite these challenges, she constantly amazes me by seeing the beauty in simple moments and by recognizing the immeasurable value in this thing we call life.
Because Julia is fighting against Lyme disease while also dealing with Ehlers Danlos syndrome, a genetic disorder that effects the connective tissue in her body, she has difficulty walking and moving around. She experiences tremendous pain in her hips, knees, jaw, and other bones and joints throughout her body. Julia’s mom Rebecca Fraley is an amazing woman who would give up anything to help her daughter. I would normally say something sappy here, but the best phrase I can think to describe her comes from hip hop culture – Rebeca Fraley is a “ride or die” mom.
Both Julia and Rebecca are proud women who are trying to navigate this tumultuous situation on their own. Sure they get help from close friends and family, but they don’t strike me as the type to ask for money. Well, guess what? I am the type to ask for money.
Recently, Rebecca mentioned that they’re hoping to get Julia an electric wheelchair. This would allow Julia to go on nature walks, visit places like the museum and other attractions, and generally attempt to do some of the many things that us able-bodied folks take for granted. I don’t think this is asking too much, and I’m hoping that as a friend of Julia, you don’t either.
After setting up this account, I’ll be sharing this page on Facebook. I’d like to raise $5,000 to help the Fraley’s get that wheelchair. I see Julia has 840 Facebook friends. I just need 200 of you to donate $25 in order to hit our goal. I see a lot of folks on here praying for Julia. Let me remind you all that God works through us not for us.
