Lee and Dana Kershner were living a young couples dream, two beautiful children, their first home and both working hard to create a good life for their children. Along with working hard they found the time to help others through Quakertown Community Outreach. In 2015 their world turned upside down. First Maddy started having seizures, which eventually led to brain surgery. While dealing with her daughter's health issues, Dana was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. The prognosis was not good, so after 2 surgeries to remove 7 tumors which were invading her neck and rounds of radiation, she was not cancer free. Dana decided to enroll in a clinical trial. This meant extended stay trips to the Mayo Clinic in MN.
Unfortunately, between Dana and Maddy, their medicine alone costs over $500 a month. That along with the trips to Boston and only one income have turned their fairy tale into a nightmare. They are in danger of losing their home soon. Without treatment and medicine...we're not going to go there because all of us with QCO will help, but we need an Army not just a few soldiers.
