Juan Ramon Medical Expenses

Donation protected
NOBARS family would like to thank everyone who sent a donation for Our Brave Rescuer Juan Ramon Velazques Martinez.  He dedicated his life to saving all dogs from abuse and neglect.  The world is a better place having had his kindess for this short time.   Sadly Juan has passed.

All donations have been given to family in support of his dogs.    A total of $30.000 Pesos were raised on GoFundMe and personal donations.  His son Alan Velazques and his Brother Carlos Velazques have been given the donations.   We cannot speak for them, but are assured that your kindness in this time of grief shows the true spirit of their father/brother/son/friend.

Thank you everyone.

Any further donations received will be placed with his Son,  Alan Velazques.  There are many dogs that Juan Ramon saved and are still waiting their turn at a second chance.  The donations will be used to feed and provide medical attention.

As many of you know, one of our NOBARS family members has come upon a very bad situation.

Juan Ramon Velazquez Martinez is a very kind and generous man, who rescues and devotes his life to the homeless street dogs.  He rescues them, rehabilitates them and ensures they feel the love of a human.  Many of you have adopted one of his dogs.  This year alone he has rescued and found homes for Fidel, Cala, Kino, Kina, Fato, Chabela, Chris, Piccolo, Tary, Sultana, Sua, Suka, Syka, Pulga, Juana, Chilandrina, Paola, Hula, Chano, Teo, Lay, Julie, Johnny, Mila, Jimena, Lucas, Maggie.

Juan Ramon was on his way home when he was viciously attacked.  He was beaten and left.  It was many days before he was found. Who would do such a senseless and cruel thing.

Currently he lies at the hospital in Guadalajara in an induced coma and is intubated.  He cannot breathe on his own.  Surgery to remove the many blood clots forming, which can kill him, is not possible until the swelling in his brain settles so that he can have surgery.  He must be able to breathe on his own prior to surgery.  After the surgery, it will be a long road to recovery.  His future is very uncertain at this moment.  (we will update on our facebook page )

Juan Ramon loves his dogs and many of his friends/family are doing their best to assist with feeding and caring.  He has 20+ dogs and puppies at various stages of health, getting ready for their new families and  homes.

You can help this caring man by donating for the care of his animals, (his family wishes that money go to the animals that he rescues).  Once food is purchased for them, the balance will go to his medical expenses.  We will honour the family wishes by sending all donations to them to  purchase food and vaccinations for the dogs, with the balance going to his medical expenses.

Additionally you can help by escorting a dog to Canada on your flight home, or helping get dogs from Guadalajara to Puerto Vallarta.  Juan Ramon has always said the homeless animals are his life and he cares deeply for them.  He has rescued many dogs over the years and feeds homeless street dogs every day.  More than 50% of his income goes to helping those that can't speak for themselves.  He does this not for accolades or pats, he does this because he cares, he does this quietly for the love of dogs.  All his friends and family know that he always puts others before himself, and in particular the dogs he comes upon.

Please care and share so that we can help this man.   Any donation is greatly appreciated.

We are heartbroken and are praying that Juan Ramon recovers.

No Borders Animal Rescue Society (NOBARS) is a registered Canadian Charity and Non Profit Society.   100% of the donations given for this Campaign will go directly to his family.
