Linda Pickett's Bills and Expenses

I am trying to raise money to help my mom pay her bills and buy food while she is going through her chemo.  Late last year, she went to the doctor with abdominal pain and they found an abscess in her colon.  They monitored it for a while and her doctor told her that she would need surgery to take it out and they performed a colon resection.  They found colon cancer but feel that the surgery was successful and that they got everything.

As a precaution, she is now going through at least six months of chemo.

Mom was a nanny prior to falling ill.  She can't continue this work because of her low immunity during chemo.  She also can't get even a part-time job doing retail or office work because the doctors told her she needs to not be around a great number of people - again, because of her chemotherapy.

That's the kicker.  How can she pay bills with no income?

She is in the midst of having her utilities and insurance cut off / terminated because she can't pay these bills.  No electricity, no insurance, no cable, no phone, no anything.

She doesn't even have the money to purchase groceries.

My sister and I are helping her the best I can, but my sister just moved back to the state to help take care of our mom and is still looking for a job herself.  I have a family of my own (and I'm working two jobs to pay our bills).  We're helping the best we can.  But we need the help of others in order to help her.

Please continue donating what you can to help our Mom out.  She's an amazing woman and has always been self-sufficient and it's killing her now to have to rely on others.  She's always prided herself on being the one helping....now she needs help herself.
