Sharon Needs Our Help

2018 has been a heck of a year for Sharon Walsh.  Our dear friend Sharon will shortly be heading to Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City for major heart surgery.  She has only recently recovered from brain surgery and the doctors have cleared her to have the next surgery to replace the heart valve that was also affected by the strep infection that entered her bloodstream and which has lingered in her brain and heart.  Sharon will be in the hospital for at least 10 days, and will need to have a family member with her throughout those 10 days.  Her daughter Jessica is taking a leave from her job to be with her mother and Jess will be the one to advocate for Sharon with the medical team at the hospital.   

It's not feasible for Jess to stay in Sharon's hospital room for 10 days.  Still, because of the nature of the surgery, Jessica needs to be within minutes of her mom, and so the only practical solution is to stay in the hotel above the hospital. 

While it is the only practical solution for housing, it's not an inexpensive option. The estimated costs are $300 per day.  On top of all of the other medical bills from this year, Sharon and her family are struggling to afford the cost of having Jessica in the city with her mother.   Any help with these particular costs would be greatly appreciated.
