Cancer recovery for Bob
Donation protected
I would never normally be the person asking for financial help from others, but Dad has had a rough go this past year. He was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma in June 2017. In July, half of his tongue and lymph nodes removed and he went through several weeks of radiation treatment. A few weeks ago, doctors determined that his cancer never went away entirely, growing through the radiation and remains in his tongue and nerves. Today, he went in for another surgery for total tongue and lymph node removal followed by rehabilitation time and chemotherapy. Because of the time taken off from work over the summer and fall, dad has exhausted all of his leave his work and fmla can offer and we are uncertain of whether he will be able to work ever again. He will need assistance to cover his bills for the time he is in the hospital and to assist with his house until he can get approval for long term disability, which can take up to three months to determine. We thank anyone who is willing to help with anything they can offer. We are hoping that this surgery and treatment will allow him to live a long life cancer free, so that he can watch his grand daughters grow up.
