esight eyewear for Joy

Donation protected
This all began one morning in October of 2013. I noticed that I had a blurred spot in my left eye. I really didn't think anything of it at first, but went to the doctor to get my vision checked .

Never in a million years, did I think I would be sharing a story about how I became legally blind.

Within three months I had gone from perfect vision to giving up my job at the YMCA for the past 30 years.

I felt that I had lost some of my independence. Driving was part of that. Having to wait for people and always depending on others to get me around was not something I wanted to do. It made me feel guilty for needing help. I was the one who helped people. I loved being someone that people could depend on. That was and still is me!

Even sharing how it really makes me feel is something I would not want people to read, because I am so grateful for all my family and friends who are there for me.

I never thought losing sight  to be unfair, I eventually  accepted it and did whatever I could to not sit at home and let what was happening  get the best of me. I begin volunteering at nursing home and a childcare center.

My friends and family have always encouraged me and have wanted to help. I heard of eSight and wanted to try it because there was nothing to lose.

I am so glad I did. It was amazing!

I could read again, see the faces of my loved ones, and began thinking of something I did not think was possible....

I would see my daughter on her wedding day.

I will see one of the most important days of my daughter's life.

As a parent, this is something we look forward to while we watch our little ones grow into wonderful and inspiring human beings.

All I can think of  is eSight will let me be a part of this moment and I will have that visual memory forever. I want to see the joy in her eyes as she is saying "I Do."

I want her to know that I can see the love in her face as she smiles when the ring is slipped onto her finger.

With eSight, I will be there in body, mind and soul.

I have until 2016 to raise the $15,000 to see my daughter on one of the most meaningful days of her life.

Thank you for reading my story.

I hope this inspires you to share this story or make a donation to help me on my journey.
