For years, Joy Almaas has been a friend, mentor, counselor, minister, spiritual teacher and choir director whose love, wisdom & talents has transcended many lives.
Joy & Thor now face a challenge that gives us all an opportunity to give back to a couple who has given so much to each of us.
Thor has been facing some serious health challenges that have left him unable to work. Their savings account has been exhausted. Soon to turn 83 years old, Joy will become the sole bread-winner and is now securing new employment, as she also continues with her counseling/coaching, helps with Thor's needs, and directs the choir at One Heart One Mind.
This weekend close friends of Joy & Thor's assisted them with an Estate Sale at their home in LaMesa...most of their furniture & belongings have been sold and on Monday, they (along with Charlie...their dog) will be moving in with a friend (temporarily) until they can find a new home...and this is where we can help!
They have secured a concrete "pad" in El Cajon on which to park a mobile home...but now must purchase the mobile home. They are currently shopping for a used 34' (or longer) 5th Wheel that will become their home. Costs range from about $10,000 to $20,000+ for a used 5th Wheel in good condition.
The family has pooled together a reasonable down-payment for their new home...but they still need a minimum of $10,000 to cover the costs of purchasing the 5th Wheel home, have it installed on the "pad" (with utilities) and cover the costs of moving. And wouldn't it be nice if we raised enough funding to gift them a couple of months of expenses as they make this huge transition in their lives?
Every penny raised will go to Joy & Thor. Any amount you can contribute would be appreciated and put to very good use. Joy & Thor are EXTREMELY appreciative of all the love & support they have received...and are continuing to receive. No amount is too small.
Will you join Steve and I in this fund-raising effort for a woman (and her kind & talented husband) who has truly changed many lives. P.S. Here's where I'll put in a plug for Joy: Steve and I "sat in Joy's chair" for many years. She helped us: look in the mirror, confront spiritual truths, learn more about ourselves, navigate the growth of our own businesses, and (last but not least) find our way in love.
