Jovie-Skye

Hello amazing Hoomans of the world. I have a long time friend who has a lovely baby named, Jovie-Skye. She was born with extra awesomeness, as this little cutie has Downs Syndrome. We KNOW she’s brilliant and oh so fantastic but this little girly needs more time at home with her Mom before she can go out into the world to grace it with her presence. Problem is she won’t be able to stay home with her for the extended time she needs due to being only 10 hrs short to qualify for more hours. Here is a little from her Mom, Celindy on the situation:

*Jovie-Skye will be 11 months on the 22nd and is just 13 pounds (so basically has only gained 6 pounds

since birth) she was born with Down syndrome which means all the milestones of a neurotypical child while on their way have not yet arrived and my maternity leave is ending and I will need to go back to work very soon.

My workplace allows another vear of maternity leave unpaid so I have been saving like my daughter's life depends on it (cause it does) to stay home for as long as I can. I had saved a month's wages but the CRA tells me I owe about 3082.00 to them so now that money is gone.

Jovie-Skye is fighting me on everything I try to feed her (even purées) She only wants breastmilk and if I'm back on the road there's no way I can stop every 4 hours (during my 18 hour shifts)and take a break to pump milk and then get it back safely in 5-7 davs with the freezing and defrosting that would take place.

She's also started crying her heart out everytime I am not near. She literally will not eat and cry herself to sleep when I'm not home. *
