Jovanna Cedeno - Car Accident

My sister, Jovanna, was in a life-threatening car accident. She suffered multiple injuries, like a fractured jaw and severe laceration to her tongue. However, the injury we are most concerned with, one that has prolonged her stay in ICU, is the injury to her brain. We have been told that Jovanna has “global swelling” in her brain. Recently she had surgery to relieve the swelling which went well and we are hopeful that it will continue to go down.

If you’ve ever met Jovanna, you know how strong she is and it shouldn't come as a surprise that she is fighting daily and showing signs of recovery. Her right arm is moving and she is opening her eyes. She responds with small hand gestures to medical staff & family and has recently moved her toes!

It has already been 10 days in the hospital and we are not sure what the length of her stay will be. The doctors and nurses have told us this will be a LONG journey for her. Her medical expenses are adding up and we expect that Jovanna will also have to go to an acute rehab after her current hospital stay for physical and speech therapy. Unfortunately, we cannot afford the current and future medical expenses.
