My name is Sjors. I’m 28 years old. I was born and raised in Holland Amsterdam.
In 2014, I got an autoimmune disease. According to doctor diagnose it is autoimmune pancreatitis, a rare newly recognized disease that caused my whole pancreas get inflamed. It attacks healthy body tissue by increasing white blood cells and led to inflammation of my pancreas. It was a battle for almost 2 years to get better. During that period of sick, I didn’t have any capability to work as this disease gave me extreme tiredness and constant pain, so I was losing my job. I stayed at home and had to run hundreds of medical checkup and treatment.
The first 5 months when I began to feel sick, no doctor could tell me exactly what was happening with my body until I suddenly lost 25kg of my weight and later my body got jaundice. Since then, the doctor noticed the symptom and they checked my pancreas was swollen. They gave me medicine that affected to reduce the inflammation on my pancreas. It was saved my life and I slowly recovered even though till now the doctors are not sure which autoimmune disease I have. There are 2 types of autoimmune pancreatitis, i.e type 1 AIP is also called IgG4-related pancreatitis that you get once in your life; and type 2 AIP, also called idiopathic duct-centric pancreatitis that you get whenever uncertain. In 2017, I got ill again and cost 3 months of my life in struggle to combat this
Unfortunately, no doctor in Holland can really help. I must live every day with a little pain in my pancreas and I have to be very careful with what I eat and drink since they can be triggers. The doctors tried different medicines to me but it only made it worse. They said there is not exact prescription for it because this disease is not medically proven yet. It is devastating me for sure since I cannot be productive and run my life normally.
It is now 2019 and there is another complication unexpectedly strikes my body. There is a nerve stuck in my hip that caused me cannot move and walk properly. Again, I must lost my job and left the school paid by my company. The company decided to not extend my contract anymore and cut the education fund because I couldn’t work. It’s been 5 months now and nothing change as I’m still sick. I have met several doctors, did MRI and CT scan, but still they cannot find what happened. They only gave me pain killer and they sent me to physiotherapists to do some examination but the result remains the same. One of physiotherapist sent me to another specialist doctor in Erasmus Hospital Rotterdam and this doctor suggested me to go to a special clinic. It really makes me frustrating, it seemed that they threw me to here and there and my life is in uncertainty. I lost my faith and trust in the medical world in Holland.
I suffered enormous economic losses because of my health problem. I continually lost my jobs so I never have a normal steady income. In order to find healing, I decided to go to Indonesian on 20th September 2019. I heard a lot of good things about healing therapy and medication in Southeast Asia and now I want to see it with my own eyes. I am not sure if I would get well but it’s worth a try. I have some money on the side but it is not enough for my healing trip. I never ask people for help but now it is going to be the time I sincerely ask your help. I don’t ask much but please can you share some of your blessing for someone who really eager to get his normal life back. This is not the way I want to live till my dead come. I believe my life can be functional and useful either for me, my family or people around me. I hope I will find what I am looking for on this trip.
