Container of Hope for the Lifeline Fund, Malawi

Our first container, in 2020, was jam packed with school desks and chairs, laptops, rucksacks, spectacles, medical equipment, bicycles, irrigation equipment, tools, 40,000 items of clothing and bedding…..to name but a few.  Most of these items are no longer wanted in the UK but they can CHANGE LIVES in Malawi.  A sewing machine will give a living to someone we will train in tailoring who will then be able to financially support their family each month; a laptop enables a student to achieve their dream of going to university; the gift of a bicycle allows a child who currently walks 10km each way to school every day, to arrive fresh and ready to learn.  These items, that we've probably forgotten about even donating, are continuing to improve lives TODAY!

So, is it worth it?  Yes!  Just seeing the little face of one of our beautiful children shining with happiness at being given a new shirt and shorts or witnessing the tears of gratitude from one of our university students when handed a laptop to enable them to continue their education makes it all worthwhile.  We estimate that the value of the contents of the first container was at least £50,000.  Most of the items sent are simply not available in Malawi and I count it as a privilege and blessing to be able to help.

Malawi is sadly one of the poorest nations on earth but our container contents provide hope and opportunity.  What is life without hope?

The things we take for granted, the items we no longer need, the money we won’t really miss are all things that people in Malawi, who have nothing, are praying for today.
