Joshuan Matos TBI Recovery Fundraiser

On Friday , February 27, My brother Joshuan Matos was involve in a hit and run while he was on his way home from work on his electrical scooter. The accident resulted in a severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). Since the reception, Joshuan has been in the TICU in lake land, FL where he has undergone multiple surgical procedures to address the immediate complications, as well as smaller treatments needed as issues arise. Even thought we were told he was NOT going to make it and that all we were waiting for was a miracle, he did. We received our miracle. We know he is a fighter and that he will get through all of this. We believe he will wake up and recover. He will be sent home soon to continue with his procedures and recovery. Due to the accident my mom who lived out of state at the moment had to relocate over to florida and has spent every night by his side. She has no home here, no job and at the moment we’re struggling financially. We want my brother to have a stable home where he can recover with all the the necessary and needed equipments. Most are cover or giving by the hospital but there are some where we have to pay out of pocket. Through all of this pain we’re trying to be strong and fight for him. Through it all, he has been surrounded by an amazing neurological team, and his lovely family. Friends and family that were either at the reception or from their hometown in Florida .
