Joshua Dean emergency surgery

This is my friend, Josh Dean. We've been friends around fifteen years now. He's known locally around Cocoa Beach as a really talented musician, playing in recent years in a band called Seed, and as a really nice guy. He's had a lot of medical struggles throughout his lifetime and has fought to overcome many adversities and always managed to stay positive and keep up the fight. Currently, he's in need of an urgent medical procedure and has put it off as long as he could due to financial issues. He's the kind of guy that wouldn't ask anyone for help so I'm doing so on his behalf. I realize these are very trying times but I hope you'll consider making even the smallest donation.
Josh was born with a condition known as pectus excavatum. It is a condition in which a person's breastbone is sunken into one's chest. Severe cases of pectus excavatum can eventually interfere with the function of the heart and lungs. Josh's case was so severe that three years ago it was determined he needed what is called a Nuss Procedure, whereby one to three curved metal bars are inserted behind the sternum in order to push it into a normal position. In this surgery they make a tunnel under your rib cage and over your lungs and heart so that a pre-bent bar can be inserted flat, attached to the side of the ribs, and cranked up to micro fracture all of the ribs and sternum, while at the same time supporting the rib cage so that it is able to heal in the correct form to allow the heart and lungs to function properly. The bars are then left in for a period of three years at which time they need removed. As you can imagine it is an extremely painful process, and despite many setbacks since having it done, Josh has not given up and continues to fight. The procedure Josh currently needs done is to have those bars removed. The total cost is approximately $17,000 and he has an immediate deductible to pay for $2000.00 in order to proceed.
