Josh's Medical Fund

Welcome to Josh’s Go Fund me page.

Josh Imperial had a tough spring semester at college. He was constantly sick, anemic, fatigued, coughing and started having unexplained pain toward the end of April. So instead of staying at UT Dallas for summer school, his parents, Archie and Carol, decided to bring him back to Austin for some of Carol’s home cooking and free housing. Earlier this summer they took a trip to Boulder and Estes Park for the boys to do some hiking and rock climbing. His brothers, Luke and Jake were having a great time but Josh was just miserable. The altitude in Colorado exacerbated his symptoms so much they took him to the Estes Park ER.

After several tests, his doctor decided to take a chest x-ray and found a very large tumor in this right chest. It was confirmed with a CT scan. They got him back home the next day.

He has since been diagnosed with Stage IV Germ Cell cancer. There’s a football sized tumor in his chest along with a ping ball sized tumor on his liver. Also, there is bone involvement in his sternum and spine.

Josh just started a 12 week course of chemotherapy that will be followed by 4 weeks of radiation therapy.

As we all know cancer can be a huge financial burden. Even with insurance there are several recommended procedures that are not fully covered or not covered at all.

Compounding this even more, the Imperials have been facing ongoing medical expenses with Archie’s chronic neck and back issues. Archie continues to experience pain and hand numbness that forced him to give up his dentistry practice in 2015.

As you can imagine, this is a humbling time for the Imperials and they could never have imagined being in this situation.  Their first request is for your ongoing prayers for Josh’s full recovery.  If you are able to contribute financially, please consider making a donation to help them through this crisis.
