Josephs Continuing Yoga Education

In 2016 my friends and family sent me to India to practice at the source of yoga. In 2018 I’m asking for your help again.

I’ve been accepted to study at the Ashtanga Yoga Institute this June, and going will only be possible with your assistance.

As a yoga teacher my income is minimal. So I’m asking you to be a patron of my studies, my practice and my teaching. Here in Guatemala, I make about $480 US dollars per month. After expenses I live completely paycheck to paycheck. I am content and happy with this arrangement in life, because I’m doing what I LOVE. ♥️ But it does leave me in need of help in this desire to study yoga at its ancient source.

Last time you sent me to India it was a profound experience. I studied in town and Shala rich in important knowledge. And I was able to connect with the local community in some valuable ways.

I volunteered with a local childrens home called Operation Shanti.  I was there on Christmas day,  a special opportunity that Ill never forget.

I regularly got dirty at People For Animals, a local rescue organization for animals in need.

I hope that if Im able to return I will again not only connect deeply with the discipline of yoga, but also interface with the local community in meaningful ways.

Your support will enable me to further immerse myself in the learning and practice of yoga and it will allow me to better share this life changing practice with others.

I believe that a more peaceful life is possible and I hope that my work will help both myself and those I encounter further down that path.

More about me:

My search for a more present and peaceful life led me to the practice of yoga in 2008. and since 2012 I've made Hatha, Vinyasa and Ashtanga Yoga my life.

After finally overcoming a long struggle with addiction, I began experimenting with Ashtanga Yoga. I understood quickly that the lineage was calling to me to deepen my practice. In 2016 he was invited to train at Miami Life Center, the renowned studio owned by Tim Feldman and Kino MacGregor.

I teach yoga because attempts to do any and everything else ended disastrously. But when I finally devoted myself to my passion, I became an asset to myself and others. I hopes my practice allows me to be ever more loving and to exist gently.

Thanks so much to everyone who has helped me get this far in my studies and to those who may help me continue!  XOXOX
