Jorge’s Kidney Fund

Donation protected
The life of Jorge Delfin, a 32 year-old hardworking and beloved father, husband, son, and brother has come to a screeching halt.

Jorge previously held two jobs, and carried the financial weight of his family. Due to unforeseen circumstances involving loss of employment and an unexpected, life-altering diagnosis, this is no longer an option. Jorge and his family are now in need of our help.

On August 6, 2022, the primary income for his family was consumed by flames (The Island Cow, Sanibel, FL) and isn’t expected to reopen for at least a year.

On September 10, 2022, his life drastically changed again. After a trip to the ER/ED with the complaint of chest pain; Jorge was subsequently admitted to the SICU. He underwent endless testing, labs, catheters, and a kidney biopsy, which resulted in a diagnosis of End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD).

Jorge will be spending 4+ hours, 3 times a week, in an ER/ED receiving dialysis that is currently not covered by insurance. While his family is diligently searching for solutions, it is imperative that he receives appropriate treatment.

Unfortunately due to this treatment, his current health does not allow him to do physical labor with his families company, DMJ Lawn Service.

Jorge’s wife, Caitlin, is still employed as a small business owner. Despite working countless hours, it is impossible for her to carry the financial load and simultaneously care for her family at the same time without accumulating additional costs to her business or childcare for their 3 year-old daughter, Naya.

Jorge grew up in Fort Myers, FL and discovered his first love, baseball, at a young age. He continued playing in Middle and High School for Cypress Lake, where he met his wife. She, along with their daughter, share a similar love for the game. Jorge continued playing and volunteering for recreational leagues across SWFL until his diagnosis three weeks ago. Now it’s our turn to step up to the plate and show him and his family the support they need.

The burden now placed on the Delfin family is substantial. We ask for any donation that you can spare to help alleviate these monetary pressures whilst Jorge focuses on treatment. Most of all, his family asks for relentless prayer and that God may bless Jorge and his family with a miracle in their time of need.
