Jorge’s Fight with Cancer
Donation protected
We are friends of Jorge Mendoza and have known him for over 30 years. When we learned he has stage IV cancer, our first thought was how he must be feeling physically and mentally. Then our minds landed on his family. Cancer is a disease that affects the whole family, and we know the road is going to be long and full of obstacles.
Living in a small town, you know your neighbors; bank tellers, store owners, and local butcher. Jorge was our local butcher. He worked at Sani Food market for 20+ years, more recently at Sav Mor in Orland, and currently teaches ESL at Willows High School.
The recent diagnosis of Stage IV cancer in Jorge’s esophagus, liver, and lymph node, has caused uncertainty in his life. He and his family are trying to maintain a sense of normalcy and while Jorge continues to work, the added stress of doctor visits and cancer treatments are taking their toll. If the cancer fight isn’t enough, Jorge will soon undergo surgery to remove a benign tumor on his skull as soon as his immune system can sustain the stress.
As his friends and family, we want to do our part to help a man we know and love. Since the family already has so much to worry about, we would like to help alleviate the monetary worries. Money donated here will help lift the burden of medical bills and the daily costs during this difficult time.
The Class of 1987 is very thankful for you taking the time to donate to Jorge & his family, and helping to spread the word by sharing this on your timeline.
