My dear folks,
This is the first time I try and raise money for myself. For years I've covered all my own expenses as best I can and pushed all excess money to frontline organizing efforts.
Unfortunately, money's running thin and one of my primary tools of organizing, my wonderful Maroon OldsMobile has broke down on me. It's been broken down for two weeks now which has severely limited my organizing mobility.
The quote I've gotten from the mechanic is $395 dollars, to replace a power/steering pump and pulley. I've set this fundraiser a bit high in case any incidentals come up, in such case I'm planning on keeping any extra money in an "incidentals pot" in case the car breaks down again.
In the meantime, if we can get it fixed, it will allow me to engage in a number of different car-delivered, community food drives for folks that are being set up and it will allow me to drive around and engage in my regional abolitionist work.
