Jon's Cancer Treatment Fund

This is my wonderful fiancé Jonathan Schoell, and I am Cassie. Thank you for taking your time to read this! We have been together for two and a half years. In April 2017, Jon proposed to me with a definite yes! Suddenly, two months later in June, he had an onset of fevers, fatigue, and unexplained pains throughout his body. We thought this was a virus or flu, but after weeks of these symptoms, Jon decided it was time to visit his doctor. She ordered various blood tests to understand his symptoms: that same day, she called Jon and urged him to go to the ER. Going into the ER that night saved his life: he was in critical condition of kidney failure, extremely high levels of calcium, and advanced fever stages. After several hours of undetermined diagnosis, Jon was admitted to the hospital for further testing and critical sustenance of IV fluids. After five days of intensive tests, scans, surgeries, and biopsies, we were told terrible news we never imagined. On June 16th, a CAT scan revealed a mediastinal mass behind his breastbone, with other sightings across the body. Jon had two lymph node biopsies performed on him: one behind his chest, the other in his neck, as well as a bone marrow biopsy. Pathologists confirmed that Jon, at the age of 25, is diagnosed with advanced Hodgkin’s Lymphoma type B stage 3.

As some may know, Jon is an active cyclist and an amazing coffee enthusiast who manages the cafe at Cafe Velo. He dreams of pursuing a career in the coffee industry, and is wholehearted to give the most loving relations with all those around him. Jon has always been one to serve others, and cares about everyone around him. Even though these dreams are on momentarily hold, we are focusing on a healthy recovery and healing process.

The next six months consist of chemotherapy sessions twice a month, follow-ups, and intensive treatment. We are trusting and praying to eliminate this cancer from his body, and fulfill our long loving future together. We are asking for help from those around us, who we love and appreciate, to support the costs of treatment and medical bills.

We are so thankful for the support and help of those around us, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!!
