Jon's Fight With Cancer

After everything our Family has been through, Cancer strikes again!
In the past two years, our family has lost so many of its members. My Uncle Jon’s father and older sister Mary succumbed to Cancer and his younger brother Shaun to heart failure. Jon has now been diagnosed with stage 3 Cancer of the Esophagus and is no longer able to work because of the advanced stage of the disease and his urgent need for treatment. Also, as Jon is fighting his battle his mother, my grandmother, is dealing with a life-threatening illness of her own. With all the expenses we as a family have already had with the 3 previous deaths and the ones we are now incurring with my Grandmother as she deals with her disease, our resources have been stretched to the limit and beyond, hindering our ability as a family to able to provide the financial assistance that my Uncle needs at this critical time.
Right now his Cancer is inoperable as the tumor is too large to remove. The doctors want to start a program that incorporates chemotherapy and radiation treatment. If the chemo and radiation manage to shrink the tumor then radically invasive surgery will be needed to remove it. With his body ravaged by the disease and while he waits for the treatment he’ll require to survive, Jon has not been able to work resulting in the loss of his health benefits. He is eligible for Cobra but has not been able to afford to pay the premiums. He has until October 15th to start paying his Cobra benefits or he will not be able to get any insurance coverage. With his Cobra benefits in place he can start treatment and when it’s completed (Yes we’re thinking positive as he is young making his chances of success good!), there will be a period of healing and recovery making him unable to work for a long while.
Up to this point, Uncle Jon has been able to get disability which is minimal and doesn’t even begin to cover his regular monthly expenses of rent, electric, food etc. We know he can beat this but he needs all of our help. Please find it in your heart to give whatever you can. Also, we ask that you keep Jon and our family in your prayers as we go thru this.
All donations received will go toward Jon's medical and living expenses.
