Jojo's Medical Fund
Donation protected
On May 15, 2017, 4-year-old Joseph Goodwin or "Jojo" went into the OR to have a reparative surgery for his Omphalocele. This is a birth defect in which part of his organs formed outside of the body. Although the doctors knew this surgery would be high risk and involve intense recovery, they were hopeful Jojo would soon be able to return to everyday activities.
Unfortunately, complications arose and the surgery was not able to be completed as planned. Not only that, but it left Jojo very near death on multiple occasions. It is a miracle that he is with us today! As we write this Jojo has been in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for 91 days. During this time Jojo's family (parents, grandparents, older sister, aunts, cousins, and close friends) has rallied together to give him round the clock care. He has never been left alone for a moment, even during the birth of his new baby sister (yes, for reals)!
However, he still has a long way to go to full recovery and there will be many more costs to cover along the way such as:
--Hotel Stays
-- Gas
--Time off work
--Medical bills
We are asking for your help to fund some of the above as well as assist in the expenses involved with sending Jojo home (wheelchair ramps, medical equipment, home-care, etc). We are also hoping that his mom will be able to stay home from work just a little while longer.
Thank you so much for your consideration. We would appreciate your love in the form of donations, your prayers and your assistance in passing this along to your friends and family.
