If you are receiving this message, it is because you are an active and cherished member of AR:F. Recently, one of our staff members, Phoggy (whom we all know and love), has fallen on some hard times. Without going into too many details, he has faced some unprecedented financial strains that have placed a great deal of stress on himself and his wife. Ultimately, they trust that the Lord will certainly continue to provide for them, as He has faithfully done so thus far. However, on top of the recent financial strains Phoggy and his wife have encountered, Phoggy's computer died on him. This has caused him to go into some debt to replace it. Having a working computer is not only for leisure fun like gaming or watching anime, Phoggy also uses it for work as he manages all of his counseling correspondence and scheduling online and his PC was the only computer they had in the house.
That being said, as Christians, I believe that we share a responsibility to care for one another however we can by bearing one another's burdens (Galatian 6:2). Though AR:F is only a Discord server and not a church, I believe this responsibility applies to Christians as a whole. So, with that being said, we could use your help!
Ways that you can help:
- Prayer. First and foremost, calling out to God on behalf of our dear brother in Christ is crucial. So, if nothing else, please spend some time praying and asking the Lord to continue to faithfully provide for Phoggy and his wife.
- Giving. I understand that we all have financial challenges that we face. However, that does not deny the fact that we have an opportunity to charitably give to a brother in need. You are under no pressure or obligation to give, but if the Lord stirs up a desire to contribute financially, we will greatly appreciate it. Any funds that go to this GoFundMe will go directly to Phoggy. The starting goal of this fund is an effort to cover the expenses of his new computer. However, if we can help them out even more, then let us do so!
- Encouragement. Reach out to Phoggy and just let him know you are praying for him. Share some scripture with him, tell him how his presence in the server has positively impacted you, or anything else that you feel you could say to him. I know from experience that in times like this, I benefit greatly from encouraging words from my friends and fellow believers and I am sure you can relate.
Ultimately, we have an opportunity here to care for and encourage a fellow Christian in need. If you are not in a place where you can contribute financially, that is completely fine! There is no pressure and we will never push someone into a position of discomfort. However, I do ask that you pray about it and consider it as we try to raise money to help Phoggy.
