I am Dr. Faran Farooq, originally from Pakistan. As a father deeply committed to the well-being of my precious daughter, Haya Maryam, I am reaching out for support in raising funds for her critical medical treatment.

Relationship:

Haya Maryam is my beloved daughter, born to my wife, Anam Hanif, and me. Our family's world revolves around her, and her health and happiness are of utmost importance to us.

Journey:

The nightmare truly began on that fateful day in January when Haya fell ill with a mild congestion. What started as a routine visit to the pediatrician quickly spiraled into a nightmare as she was diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia. Days in the PICU blurred into each other, filled with fear and uncertainty as we watched our little fighter battle for her life.

It was during this dark time that the doctors mentioned a term that would come to haunt our dreams: Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). A genetic disorder that affects the very core of Haya's being, robbing her of the ability to move, to breathe, to live a normal life.

As a dentist, I've dedicated my life to promoting health and well-being. Yet, despite my knowledge and expertise, I find myself powerless in the face of my daughter's illness. The only glimmer of hope lies in Zolgensma gene therapy, a treatment that promises to change Haya's life for the better. But it's a treatment that is out of reach for us here in Pakistan.

Desperate to give Haya the chance she deserves, my wife and I have embarked on a journey of fundraising and sacrifice. We've liquidated our assets, reached out to friends and family, all in the hopes of raising enough funds to afford this life-saving treatment.

Explanation of Funds Usage:

The funds we are raising will be used exclusively for Haya's gene therapy treatment. Specifically, we are seeking to cover the costs associated with Zolgensma gene therapy by Novartis Pharmaceuticals. This therapy offers Haya the best chance at a fulfilling life, but unfortunately, it is not available in Pakistan, where we currently reside. The total cost of the treatment amounts to approximately 2.1 million USD.

The funds will be delivered directly to Novartis Pharmaceuticals or the authorized medical facility administering the treatment. We will ensure transparency and accountability in the management of these funds, providing regular updates to our supporters on how their contributions are being utilized.
