My name is Nikki Smothers. My husband Rowdy Smothers is very sick and well to be completely honest he is dying. He has Cancer and only has 6 months if he is lucky to live. Let me start at the beginning. I have loved Rowdy since the first day I met him which was June 9, 1994, I was 21 at the time. From the moment I saw him I knew he was the one. He was the man that had my heart. It was love at first sight. As every marriage we had our ups and downs but the love we had was always there. Rowdy is the strongest and loving man I have had the honor to know. He has raised and loved 6 children. And it didn't matter if they was biologically his, he loved and treated them all the same with love and respect. He has taught so many people so many different things. He brings out the best in everyone. July 2016 he got sick was looking jaundice. We went to doctor and they told us he had a tumor on the tip of his pancreas so they scheduled him for surgery to have a procedure done called the Whipple, that is where they take out the gallbladder and the head of the pancreas. After that surgery he was doing well. We did find out that the tumor was cancer. One week after his surgery he started bleeding in his stomach and had to have emerency surgery. The second surgery didn't go as smooth as the first. He had to have a breathing tube and chest tubes. He was sleeping through all this. For a week he slept and we all talked to him to get him to come back to us. I knew if anyone was going to come back it would be him. He don't know what give up means. He woke up and that day when I heard his voice again was one of the best days of my life. So after he got strong enough to come home they started him on Chemo as a precaution, because they believed they got all the cancer. Well, they was wrong it had spread to his liver. So they put him on a different chemo. Now this chemo was shrinking the tumor on his liver but it also caused him to have pancreatitis, which is not good. So they changed the chemo. He ended up taking two more different chemos but neither one of them was shrinking the tumor. So the next option was to have what they call chemo abrasion. He was scheduled for that but before he got the chance to have that done he went into the hospital because his pain was so bad. While he was there they discovered the tumor had grown and broke through the liver lining. So while he was in the hospital they did the chemo abrasion and sewed up the liver lining. Well last week we found out that cancer spread to his stomach when it broke through the liver lining. So now there is nothing left that they can do . The doctors have told us that he has maybe 6 months if he is lucky with his family. He has been in and out of the hospital for the last year and a half. I am asking for some help for after he passes, so I can give him what he wants. The funds are needed when the worst happens. Any amount that can be givin is greatly appreciated.
