Join Nieve’s Fight Against Leukemia!

Hi, my name is Yasmin and I’m fundraising for Nieve Hewitson & Her Family.

On Tuesday 21st May 2024, the Hewitson’s whole world fell apart, their amazing caring loving little girl Nieve was given the worst possible news that they could ever of imagined. Nieve was diagnosed with Leukemia she was transported to the RVI late that night.

The next 2 years are going to be the hardest time of Nieves little life but the next 6months are going to be the toughest with all the treatment that she is going to have and need! Her full medical team are just absolutely amazing there confident that Nieve will make a good recovery to live her life to the fullest without the Nasty ‘C’ there world has fallen apart, totally heartbroken, they wish it was an awful dream and could wake up from this nightmare.

Nieve was so brave on the 31st May getting her port in for the chemotherapy also the NG tube which helps with her medication.

On the 6th June Nieve was discharged after 17 days of ups and downs , finally on there way home. The full family are taking each day as it comes.

11th June Nieve had her bone marrow, lumbar pincher and bloods hard morning as Nieves blood sugars dropped below 2 and was nill by mouth so having to have the glucose gel, nothing is ever easy for Nieve.

26th June was Nieves’s last bone marrow and lumbar puncher of her 4 weeks intensive induction treatment, ready to start her next lot of treatment, she’s’ slowly starting to loose her hair, she’s upset angry and scared of the world, nobody understands how emotional and physically draining it for the Hewitson’s to give there daughter 5 plus medications every 4 hours with Nieve being so anxious & upset, 6 weeks of this horrible nightmare.

A whole year ago they had a healthy full of life little girl, who was living her best life but now she’s missing her friends, playing out & being in reception instead she’s having life saving treatment.
