Join My Battle Against Stage 4B Cervical Cancer

I’m Heather, I’m a single Mom of 5 amazing children. I just found out in the end of August that I have stage 4B Cervical Cancer.

Stage 4B means that my cancer has spread significantly. It started in my cervix and now is also in my tubes, liver, right ilium (hip bone), my abdomen, chest, neck, lymph nodes and lungs with fluid.

It’s gotten significantly worse since I found out. I am retaining 30 pounds of fluid from my ribs down, my legs are double the size that they should be. Because of my health declining I had to move out of my house to stay with my best friends so that I have help around the clock. I have been falling a lot, I need help getting dressed, getting in and out of the shower, I cannot sleep laying down because of pain. I am exhausted because I need to be woken up every 3 hours to take medication. I now need oxygen, a walker or wheelchair depending on what I’m doing, I’m waiting on a hospital bed now.

I started hospice the other day. That was terrifying to face for me. Hospice is end of life care, which indicates not having very much time left. I’m not ready to leave my kids.

I’m doing this fundraiser to help with things like bills, transportation, everyday needs as I cannot work and have not yet received social security disability.

I also really want to take the kids to do fun things while I am still able to. I want to create memories that they can carry with them aside from watching me slowly go through this.. I cannot imagine my only memory of the end of my Mom’s life just watching her be in bed struggling. I do have help with the kids so I do not have to attempt to take them places alone.

For those of you who do not know my kids are 10, 10, 12, 18 and 20. (Yes, I have twins)

I’d like to take the kids to Florida for a week. I want them to be able to swim in the ocean with me. I’d love to do Disney for 2 days.

I also want to take them to Philadelphia and New York to go to some museums. They have never been to an aquarium.. I think it’s time!

I need your help to be able to get the most out of life over the next few months and help these amazing little people have some fun with me to take their mind off of what’s going on.
