Join Lillie in supporting Loni’s fight against breast cancer

My name is Lillie and when my sister Loni and I were very young, our mother was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. For the next 11 years we watched her fight it over and over until she passed away when I was 15 and Loni was 13. She was just 49 years old.

Three months ago Loni was diagnosed with breast cancer. She has also tested positive for the BRCA 2 genetic mutation and the ATM mutation. These put her at very high risk for both recurrence and several other types of cancers. Because of these factors she will be undergoing a double mastectomy on May 20, followed by radiation. And also a preventative hysterectomy in a few months.

Loni has 2 young girls and I will be staying with them to help care for the children and Loni post-op. She will be unable to do any work during this time and even with insurance, medical expenses add up very quickly. We are fortunate to have so many wonderful friends that have offered support in so many ways, but we have very little family.
