Help John Get A New Start w/his Son

Please take a moment to read about my friend John. This is John's current view at the shelter where he has been staying for two days. Like so many of us, it's a place John never thought he'd be in.

In the years I have known him, I have known John to work very hard for his family and never ask anything for himself.  I have watched him struggle for a very long time to hold on to what little he had. Then, as weeks of struggling turned into months, then years of struggling, John slowly lost everything, mostly through bad luck situations like his car breaking down at the worst time.

When things were just about as bad as they could get, John's wife left him with their 12 year old son. John loves his kids more than anything. They were his solace when things were tough. So I know it breaks his heart not to have his 12 year old with him. Instead of tucking his son in at night, John is alone among strangers and has to sleep with one eye open in case he needs to protect himself. Right now John's 12 year old is in the care of his adult son. 

I ask all my friends and family and anyone who knows this kind man, to please donate even just 5 dollars to help give him a new start. The money would be used for a new apartment so John can be reunited with his son. 

When I asked John what his ideal fund raising goal would be, the first thing he said was that he didn't want to ask for much. I put the goal higher than he might have expected but I'd love to see it go even higher so he could get a down payment on a car and maybe furnish his apartment.

John, truly appreciates any and every dollar. I can't think of anyone more worthy of your donation. If we work together we can turn things around for this family and change a life this holiday season.
