Please help my brother survive quadruple amputations.

On December 9th, 2016 my brother John Black was hiking in Central British Columbia, something he often did as he loves to be outdoors. This particular day he fell and hit the back of his head knocking himself unconscious. A day and night passed. The following night Search and Rescue and the RCMP located him by pinging his cell phone. His hands and feet were frozen. Temperatures had dropped below -17 degrees Celsius. Doctors waited two months at which time they were forced to amputate his hands and his feet.

John needs a special wheelchair now to accommodate his multiple amputations. (The cost is between 12 and 15,000 dollars.) He needs a wheelchair that can go outside to get him to the grocery store, and the bank, etc. He will need it by the end of August 2017, which is the approximate time he will be discharged from all medical facilities.

There is no insurance or Workers' Compensation. John, like so many, had been laid off from the Fort McMurray oil fields for over a year. He exhausted his savings. Can you help him buy a power wheelchair so that he may become more self-sufficient?

Thank you in advance,

Sandra Davis (John Black's Sister)
