John's Bucket List

John Scharf is a dedicated husband and a loving father to his four children. He has two grandsons that he loves deeply.

Last September, John was diagnosed with Metastatic Prostate Cancer. They found it in multiple places in his bones.

John has been a great deal of pain for the past year. He started treatment to extend his life and was hoping to make the best out of the next four years. Unfortunately, treatment has significantly diminished his quality of life. After genetic testing and the determination of the aggressive nature of this disease and counseling with his team at Huntsman. John has made the decision to stop treatment. Doctors told us this week that in July they  believe we can expect 4-6 months left. (Miracles are still welcome)

They have asked him to stop working. (Likely not to happen until he can't walk. Although, he can't work as he used to days are 4-6 hours instead of 12-14)

John has always been one to look for opportunities to serve others. He is very generous with his time, talents and money. He has done several acts of kindness for those in his community.

John is a straightforward man and his desires to provide for his family has always been his priority. His only real regret is not making time for family-centered vacations along the way. His bucket list is pretty short. John would like to go on a Caribbean Cruise with his family. 

Many people have asked and want to help us and support us in any way possible. Unfortunately, beyond prayers (which have been greatly felt and appreciated) there has been little that the family has been able to give in the way of ideas.

After urging from many friends. I decided to set this GoFund me page up. Not having to worry about the expense of this trip while we figure out how to manage life between John working, not working and his eventual passing would be helpful and appreciated.
