Help Johnny with Medical Expenses

Hi, my name is Jenifer. I’m a longtime friend and personal training client of Johnny Gouvanis for 15 years. We all know that Johnny is always there for his family, friends, and clients. Now we need to be there for him.

Two weeks ago, Johnny went to the dentist and had a routine tooth extraction. Soon after the procedure was over, it got infected and swelled excessively. The swelling persisted and increased. He was admitted to Englewood Hospital on July 28. Because of the size and location of the swelling, the doctor was concerned it might affect his breathing. Johnny was put on a ventilator, and to protect his airways, the doctor performed a tracheotomy, a surgical procedure a breathing tube is placed into the trachea. Johnny can't talk.

Johnny was transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital August 5, where a specialist ENT Doctor can monitor him.

Johnny's prognosis is unknown, but he is in stable condition.

While many of us feel powerless in situations like this, one of the things we can do is help Johnny with the hefty medical bills, loss of personal training income, and long recovery period that is likely to come.
