Johnathan Murphy's Memorial

On November 16th, 2023 the Earth shattering news, that my Dad (Johnathan Murphy), passed away on February 18th 2023, at the young age of 40, was delivered to my family and I. There is nothing that could have prepared my brother and I for this. I remember my Dad waking me up screaming the lyrics to "Halo", cooking breakfast for me and my friends. I remember singing "American Pie" at the top of our lungs at least once a week. I remember failing a test and crying myself to sleep only to wake up to three boxes of funny bones (our favorite snack).
My brother's fondest, most recent memory, is a video of him daring our Dad to eat a piece of corn in a corn maze. He entertained the idea while we all laughed in disbelief that he'd even try. It had been a prank. Despite this he tried anyways and spit the kernels out (they were as hard as a rock). He never failed to do anything to make us laugh.
Johnathan Murphy was a beautiful, hard working, caring man who fought every day his whole life to wake up and do the best he could for his family. Johnathan Murphy was the epitome of love as an action, not an emotion.
We are devastated that he won't get to show that unconditional love to his granddaughter and future grandchildren, but we all will try our best to do so in his name.
Finding out about our Dad's death nine months after it happened, robbed us of so many things like being able to see and touch his body when saying our goodbyes, and burying his body. It has also added to our pain because the medical examiner held onto his body without any notice for so long, as if, he didn't have so many people who love him.
Now on top of this anguish we have to worry about the funeral expenses and other costs related to this unexpected tragedy. Jadon and I never thought we would be creating a GoFundMe for our Dad's funeral. We would greatly appreciate if you would consider donating to help us bring our Dad home to rest with the grace he deserves.
