The morning of August 31st while on the way to work, my dad was involved in a serious motorcycle accident in Seattle.
He had almost made it to work at Harborview Medical Center (where he is an OR surgical technologist) when the collision occurred. We cannot share details at this time but will as soon as we are able to. My dad was not breathing/unresponsive at the scene and received CPR until medics arrived on scene.
He sustained multiple injuries including; 8 broken ribs, a broken collarbone, his left femur was broken in two places, a broken right ankle, his left arm broken in two places, and a compression fracture to his T8 vertebrae disc. He has already had surgeries to repair his femur and arm. He has a steel rod in his leg, screws in his hip and plates in his arm. He has a clamshell brace for his back but it doesn’t look like he needs further surgeries at this time.
However my dad’s continuing care will include several months in a rehab facility. This GoFundMe will help to offset the costs of his continuing care and medical costs not covered by his medical insurance and what we anticipate as several months of healing so he will be unable to return to his job that he loves so much.
The WONDERFUL team at Harborview has taken such great care of dad from his surgeries to his aftercare the past week. My dad feels so blessed that even though it’s unfortunate to be in this situation he has the best people, his friends/coworkers, taking care of him!
