John W. Gaudet Sr. Memorial Fund

John W. Gaudet Sr. passed away on August 16, 2019 the same day that Elvis Presley passed.  My sister Colleen said it best when she said, "We lost 2 kings that day."  My dad was a huge Elvis fan and sang several of his songs, including my favorite, "Can't Help Falling in Love."  I am setting up this fund to offset the cost involved in his 2 week hospital stay and the costs related to his funeral.

My dad was many things to many people.  He was a fireman, a military police officer in the Army, a postman, a singer, a song writer, a piano player, a guitar player, a one-man band, a member of The Tassels, an awesome brother to my Aunt Rochelle, a cool uncle, a Pop Pop "with whiskers," a loving husband, a loving son to my grandmother Mary Glen, a "positive thinker," and a father to nine children that he was so proud of; Sharon, Michele, Jean, Gretchen, Charmaine, Mary, Jaime, Johnny, and Colleen.  Most importantly, to me he was just my dad.

He went by the nicknames "Daddy 'O" and "Johnny B. Good."  He was also known to give other people nicknames.  He had a nickname for just about everyone it seems!  In high school he started calling me Gemappelle because I was taking French classes.  Never mind that he was spelling it wrong and never mind that it literally means "My name is."  This drove me nuts, but he liked to tease people!  He loved to laugh and always had encouraging words and advice whenever I called him.  He was always so proud of all of his children.

He enjoyed simple pleasures like chocolate, fishing, WaWa coffee, and Friendly's ice cream.  He was a dreamer and always dreamed of winning the lottery!  I say, we won the lottery when we got him as our dad.  I love you dad!  Rest in Peace.

All funds will be distributed by myself, Jaime Gaudet and any left over funds will be used to share my dad's final song that he wrote the lyrics and music to, but never released.  This song was never made available to the public because he always wanted a big band or orchestra to perform it.  Any funds left over after that will be used to support equine therapy programs, especially ones offering grief and bereavement support.

Thank you all for your support in this very difficult time.
