Johnny Ray passed away on Sunday September 16th 2018 after battling his serious illness for many weeks.
The original diagnosis was cancer. However, after further testing they discovered John had acquired a rare and dangerous infection in his brain, lungs and bloodstream.
The treatment was daily infused antibiotics. During the treatment John encountered complications that affected other organs in his body. John’s body was unable to fight off the infection and it took his life.
They were blessed recently with healthcare coverage for John. So the insurance to date has picked up most of the cost of the care and treatment.
John was a financial provider for his family. The family had no life insurance on John and no savings. Like many of us, without a steady income the bills will begin to accumulate quickly. This was a unexpected medical emergency that has caught the family financially unprepared for the journey ahead of them.
Those of you close to the family already know that John and Karen have a son at home who is dependent on them medically and financially. In addition to that, they have recently taken on the care of John's elderly Aunt as well.
The funds we raise here will help sustain the family's basic needs. Karen is my sister. She has ALOT on her plate. I want her to focus on her family's immediate issues knowing she has support behind her.
Family and friends have already stepped up. And we thank them very much for that. I'm asking, as a community, to help this family financially with this gofundme campaign.
