John Collins Motorcycle Accident
Donation protected
My dad, John, was involved in a traumatic motorcycle accident on 9/28/17, resulting in the loss of his lower right leg. He was pushed into a guardrail on the freeway and his body was launched about 50 feet and then rolled another 30 feet. However, his foot stayed behind, pinned between the bike and rail. He started to bleed out from losing a limb, but a truly amazing Army veteran, who is currently training to be a nurse, was brave enough to run to his aid and she stopped the bleeding. Others came to his aid and support as well and I couldn't be more thankful for all of them. It is truly a blessing that they were able to work together and save his life.
My dad is the most outgoing and adventurous person I know, who loves to surf, hike, ski, camp, ride his motorcycle, and do jujitsu. This accident will obviously change his life forever, but he is so optimistic about his future.
The stressful part of this whole situation is the medical bills that are already piling up and also the loss of time at work. He supports his family mainly on his sole income and I don't want to see him lose anything else in his life. He is too amazing of a person.
Thank you to anyone who is able to help us out, it means so much to our family.
