John Charles Blocker "Big John"
(May 4, 1961 - July 14,
2017)
On Friday, July 14th, a great man was taken from this world. John Charles Blocker, A.K.A. Big John, was a man of many trades, but most of all he loved being with family members and loved ones. He was a beloved grandfather, father, brother, and a wonderful friend to many. Although he had only one son(John Busick Blocker), he was accepted by many as a father figure and had welcomed them as his own. For this, many people naturally called him "Dad."
As many knew, John had suffered a massive stroke on May 18th of this year that left him paralyzed and unable to speak. Although he was unable to talk, he was aware of his environment and family members and was able to communicate by using his eyes. At first, it seemed as though he was making progress, but because of his condition he suffered severely and had gradually declined over time. Even though John will be missed, we are grateful that he is not suffering anymore.
Due to the circumstances, John did not have a life insurance policy and both my sister Richelle and I do not have the funds to cremate Dad and/or have a funeral service. John is currently being held at a state facility and would need to be relocated to a funeral home. We would greatly appreciate any contributions during this difficult time in our lives.
