What happened Sunday, August 19, was very unexpected. We started with the joy of having Papi back home from his business trip Saturday evening. On Sunday morning, Jessica was excited to complete her third Father-Daughter Half-Marathon race with her Papi.
By nine o’clock in the morning, everything changed. We were all in disbelief; no words could describe how we felt. It seemed like time froze, but the pain continued to escalate. We realized that he would not be coming home forever, leaving our hearts so empty and filled with sorrow. Through your prayers, love, and support, we are able to continue our daily lives without our Papi.
We, as a family, have come to a decision to have a life celebration for my beloved husband and our Papi, Johannes Bambang Dharmawan.
Johannes touched the lives of everyone he came in contact with, family, friends, colleagues and customers alike. His contributions were immense, and his guidance, cautious thinking, and understated sense of humor are already, and forever will be, greatly missed.
San Diego has lost a community member and friend, Cubic has lost a tireless and dedicated engineer, and his family has lost a husband, a father, and its foundation. Johannes leaves behind his wife, Regina and four children.
Regina continues to battle papillary thyroid cancer, your thoughts and prayers for her and the children are greatly appreciated.
Contributions will go directly to his wife Regina, and are intended to cover immediate family expenses, medical expenses and provide educational assistance for the children.
