Joey is the kind of person that would go out of his way to help anybody in need. As well as anybody that knows him, about living each moment to its fullest, loving unconditionally, and being grateful for the little moments in life.
Joey Accordino, age 23, was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis Type 1 at birth and has had 10 brain tumors, as well as 13 brain surgeries throughout his life. Tuesday, April 9th, Joey rushed to the emergency room after experiencing a hard time breathing and found out he has another tumor located near his spine. The following morning, he returned to the ER due to numbness and tingling in his lower extremities, which spread to his arms as well. After numerous tests and blood work were taken, the doctors out by him could not come up with any answers for him. As a result, Joey will now be traveling from Florida to Chicago first thing tomorrow morning. He will be seeing his original team of doctors at Northwestern, in hope for answers and a speedy recovery. Although joey has been through a lot, he remains positive and holds a smile no matter what. As you can imagine, this is not an easy journey for him or his family and friends, and can be very frustrating not knowing what exactly is wrong. The medical bills rank up pretty quickly and any help he can get is greatly appreciated. Any donations, big or small, to help joey find answers and receive the proper treatment to get him healed will help tremendously.
I know many of you have your own bills, regular charities you support, and other financial obligations, however, this would mean the world to Joey and his family to be able to do something that might make this next phase in his journey a little easier.
