On Saturday afternoon, April 25th, 82 year old Joey Dralus became the victim of a hit and run accident. Joey was walking back to his NW Bradenton home when a vehicle struck the right side of his body, throwing him about 10 feet into our driveway. He landed on his back with agonizing pain and confusion as to what just happened. Several neighbors and other random drivers began to flood our driveway to console Joey as he laid in front of our home on the ground.
Today, he is suffering with many injuries and has a long road ahead of him to recovery. Joey has lived in the NW Bradenton area for over 30 years and is very well known and loved within our community. He is oftentimes seen walking the Bradenton area with a bright smile, a joy for life, chatting with neighbors, and greeting many with a peace sign. The Bradenton community is very fond of Joey, as he has become a neighborhood icon over the last 30 years. As you can imagine, we have all been affected and devastated by this accident.
