Joel's Fight Against Leukemia

As some of you may or may not know, these past few weeks have not only been emotional and challenging, but had left us all with many questions, doubts and continued concerns.
We had a follow up visit at MD Anderson so that Joel could do some additional lab work and discuss the results from his previous bone marrow test, as well as his blood results.
We want to share the news that Joel; our son, husband, brother, nephew, co-worker and friend has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
After numerous doctor appointments, tests and a second opinion over the past 3 weeks, we now have a clear diagnosis, plan, direction and are ready to tackle this at MD Anderson Downtown.
Joel was admitted into MD Anderson on August 31, 2020 and will start his first round of chemotherapy.
While we know this will be a tough road to travel, we now have a clear direction and path forward.
We have complete faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and the doctors that will be healing Joel through the coming months.
We ask you, Our extended family and friends, for continued prayers.
Please continue to lift Joel and Kimberly as often as possible and please respect the privacy of our family.
As we get news and updates we will be sure to update everyone on Joel’s progress, recovery and victories.
No one can ever prepare for a life changing event like this and as you can imagine, there will be many unexpected and unplanned expenses associated with Joel going through this fight.
We are going to put a few fundraisers together along with the Go Fund Me to help with the medical bills and expenses.
