Joel Misasa (26 jaar) uit Nairobi, Kenia is toegelaten tot de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen voor een Master studie "International Relations". Waar hij jarenlang van droomde en hard voor heeft gewerkt, is nu een echte kans geworden.

Introduction Joel:
Joel Misasa is my name.I am a 26 year old Kenyan intent on making a difference not only in my life but for so many others that in one way or another depend on me. Life has not always been easy for me, especially as a Kenyan child, student and later citizen. Since my father died in 2004, I have lived with an uncle and his family of nine for more than 11 years. This taught me the value of family and sharing the little that I had with others.
I believe opportunities are given to those who show a willingness to use them for the good of humanity. And this is my chance, life surely has given me a token and I have no choice but to make the best out of it - as I have done many times before.
My interests include listening to music, reading, and traveling. I also enjoy the company of others. Soccer is one of my favourite hobbies (I wanted to play for Arsenal FC while growing up).
It will be a dream come true to study in the Netherlands at the University of Groningen. I kindly invite you to read my motivation letter that I wrote to the University of Groningen (see link below).
