Joel Steven Henselin

On Wednesday night, November 8, 2023 we saw our twelve-year-old son, Joel, alive for the last time.

Joel Steven Henselin, a child of the risen Lord, was born on July 8th, 2011 to his parents, Hannah and Karl Henselin. He and his older brother Isaiah shared the love of their parents with several foster children, and gratefully welcomed Lena, Zachary, and Merci into their home through adoption.

Joel authored a number of children's books and created numerous board games and toys with paper, cardboard, and a 3d printer. He drew fantastic scenes and carved a beautiful pumpkin from his imagination. He liked sports, and loved to play games with his friends.

He attended St. Mark Church in Green Bay, where he recently completed his confirmation studies and was eager for his profession of faith day. He attended Spring Life Youth Group where he made several close friends. He was homeschooled and attended Classical Conversations on Wednesdays where his love and faith continued to blossom.

He leaves behind His parents and grandparents, two great-grandmothers, and 4 siblings, Isaiah, Lena, Zachary, and Merci. We may weep, but we are confident in the bodily resurrection, and will see him again.

For I am not ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

We don't know yet what insurance will cover, and are not announcing the usage of any moneys donated at this time. We expect to use it well, or donate to Christian charities that will spread the hope that we have in the resurrection.
