Jodon Gait NHS frontliner

My name is Melisa, a good friend of Jodon Gait who died from COVID-19 in the early hours of Saturday 25th April 2020. I was the last person who saw him alive as I took food and medicine to his home on Friday evening. He was a frontline NHS worker who looked after COVID-19 patients. He was so dedicated to this work and making a difference to people's lives. He said it was the most rewarding & fulfilling feeling. He was type 2 diabetic and had hypertension but he was so determined to carry on with his work. He referred to frontliners as WARRIORS and he was so proud to be one of them.

Jodon hasn't been able to visit his family in the Philippines for many years due to financial reasons. Since his divorce he's never been that happy person that I knew.  It affected him deeply not being able to see his son. He was scared to become involved in a relationship again but I kept encouraging him to try. Eventually he met Jody through Facebook (LoveQuotes) and started a relationship which dramatically changed him. He began to develop positive outlook and build plans for the future. He wanted to take Jody to meet his family in the Philippines while his dad is still alive. I had never seen him so happy as he was telling me his plans.

Jody works in Hongkong so Jodon's plan was to fly there in July and both of them will travel to Philippines to spend time together with his family. He was very excited of all his plans and he hoped COVID will be over by then. Now that he's gone, this plan has shuttered but I would like to make his last journey as close as to his dreams as possible. 

I'm raising this fund to enable Jody fly to Philippines to be with Jodon's family when his ashes returns so they will all be together to celebrate his life before he's laid to rest.
