Joanna's surgery and recovery fund
Donation protected
My wife Joanna was recently diagnosed with endometrial cancer and requires surgery as soon as possible. Her recovery time wil be 8 weeks and her short term disability will only pay about 25% of her salary. Being as I am disabled and not able to work we find ourselves in a fairly dire financle situation.
Since it is after the first of the year we are responsible to pay the annual deductable and 20% of all costs associated with her total historectomy. Since she has no time off we also have to find a way to continue to live indoors for the next few months, as well as eating and covering other living expenses.
As hard as it is to do this, we find ourselves in the position of having to rely on the kindness of others to help us through this incredibly difficult time in our lives.
Surgery is scheduled for February 1st and we found out today, January 29, what it was we were looking at as far as financial responsibility, and we still have not found out what the hospital will require as far as expenses.
We are hoping that the result of her historectomy will be complete recovery from this cancer, but the answer to that will only come after the surgery.
Since I had my one week vacation at the Mayo Hospital in August, we have been gtrying to play catch up on a strained financial situation. As soon as it looks like we might get through that one.... The next disaster hits.
Thank you for taking the time to read our plea for help. Even if you can't help, God Bless You for taking the time.
