Joana's first marathon!

In just ~90 days, I will be running my first-ever marathon - the Napa Valley Marathon. While I train, I will also be fundraising for The Ocean Cleanup, and have set my fundraising goal to be $4,219.5.

The Ocean Cleanup is a nonprofit environmental engineering organization that develops technology to extract plastic pollution from the oceans and capture it in rivers before it can reach the ocean.

Running - and living - by the water has been fundamental to my physical and mental health, and very few things break my heart as the realization of how much trash is still carelessly disposed of in bodies of water.

I chose to run for a future where plastic no longer pollutes our oceans, in the hopes that generations to come get to enjoy the same feeling of joy I do whenever I am by the water. With your donation, we can make a lasting impact.
