Hello friends and family,
2017 has been a year of many blessings. My husband and I celebrated our five year wedding anniversary, we bought our first home and this past August I began working on my doctorate in Higher Education, Student Affairs at the University of Maryland. The blessings kept flowing, as I was accepted to a short-term study abroad program to Accra, Ghana!
It is a unique opportunity for me to learn about the role of student affairs asssesment and neo-colonialism in the context of Ghanaian higher education. This trip will expand beyond Western ideals of social justice
and engage participants in critical examinations of power, privilege and oppression.
The study abroad experience is from January 2nd through January 14th, 2018. Funding for the trip is not fully covered by the University, and is needed by the end of December 2017. This is where I need your help! Below is an itemized list of expenses; any amount you can contribute is appreciated. Thank you for supporting me as I continue my educational journey and my efforts to support students of color. Your support and encouragement are a part of the continued blessings of 2017.

-Education Abroad Fee: $500
-Course Tuition: $2,500
-Housing Fee: $780
-Roundtrip Airfare: $1,200
