Hello, my name is Roger Mooney and my crazy " Aunt Rita", Rita Jack
had to have heart surgery recently to repair a serious condition as it threatened her life if not repaired. The condition was recognized and needed to be addressed quickly. The diagnoses was very serious, medical term is an Aortic aneurysm and coarctation of the aorta. Blood flow is restricted and is stressing the aneurysm. Her heart is working too hard to function. We are so thankful it was caught in time..The recovery time will be long. She is going to be off work for up to 12 weeks and unable to provide for herself financially during this time. There are already several individuals who have offered their time and services to my aunt and we are forever grateful.
Now to the woman. If you do not know my aunt Rita, you do not know how hard this is and you are truly missing out on knowing her. Of all people to have heart problems.............you would not think she would be one. She has the biggest, kindest, most caring heart I have ever met. She makes everyone she meets smile no matter the situation, I think she makes it her goal most of the time! She stands by her family and fights for whats right all the time, works her rear end off to make ends meet refusing hand outs. As a matter of fact, when she finds out I put this together she will be mad at me. She will help anyone she can even if she should be resting for her own health. She has helped many Veterans through her years of volunteer services at the Zionsville Legion raising funds and helping our heroes in any way she can. Always the "Elf" at the Legion for the kids, had it down to a science, so Santa knew every thing about the kids. Not only their names,but if they had been good or bad. She worked at the local high school as a study hall monitor for a number of years impacting the local youth. She may not have been on the teaching roster but the kids she interacted with learned many life lessons from her I am confident. If they did not have homework to do,she always had crossword puzzles printed and waiting for them to make sure they were busy and learning something. To this day they keep in touch with her. She is an artist, a comedian, a mom, a wife, a tireless worker, a teacher, a sister, a downright good person who can use a hand through a tough time of her own,
So, we ask you to help in any way you can even if it is a simple message of encouragement to my crazy aunt Rita who has done the same for so many in her walk. We have figured that based on her time off and expenses incurred over this time, that $5000.00 will get her through the anticipated recovery time with her bills paid.
